Fleet Operations is a popular skirmish and multiplayer orientated total conversion modification for Activision's real-time strategy game Star Trek Armada II. The project's goal was not only to create a simple "modification" but as total conversion to make Armada II a worthy successor to the second best selling Star Trek game Star Trek: Armada (behind Interplay's Star Trek: 25th Anniversary by a small, but fair margin).
The first public version of Fleet Operations has been released in 2003. Today, version 3 includes a whole new user interface, an updated game and graphics engine, completely replaced ship models, 5 balanced races with totally new gameplay and tons of new possibilities making Armada II a real real-time strategy multiplayer game.

Federation[]

The Federation are a primarily defense oriantated faction, all of their ships possessing the strongest shielding in the game and with a good variety of classes from front-line ships to artillery. They possess good sensor range and good anti-cloak detection capabilities. Almost all of their ships possess a 360 degree arc of firing using beam weaponry and some also possess torpedos.

Klingon[]

Borg[]

Borg gameplay is vastly different to that of the original Armada 2 and even to that of the other Fleet Operations races. Relying upon a low number of significantly stronger ships, the Borg must play a game of atricion, losing as few vessels as possible and protecting their mining and economy until they finally reach end game status and overpower the opponent using Spheres or Cubes. Other unique aspects of their gameplay are their researchable abilities are granted to almost all Borg vessels regardless of class with a few exceptions such as; nanites. Additionally ship classes from the Scout Cube onwards also possess modules which may be selected by the player to customizable each ship to its unique purpose which the player intends.
